As a young man, Dr. Dick was in a major motor vehicle accident with a consequent traumatic brain injury and epilepsy. His physicians, at the time, expressed that they did not believe he would recover. Contrarily, after months of therapy, he began his undergraduate studies at Ferris State University, graduating with a major in HealthCare Systems Administration and Nuclear Medicine.
After completion of undergraduate school in 2007, he began working in a hospital setting. There, he witnessed patients seeking and completing treatment, but ultimately leaving sick.
In 2009, Dr. Dick began his international travels to pursue field ministry. He traveled the globe as “His hands and feet” helping to restore lives to those that had lost hope in disasters.
Upon his return to the United States in 2012, he married his beautiful wife, Kelly, a naturopathic health professional. He saw how Chiropractic had transformed her life and how she no longer suffered as a result. Consequently, Dr. Justin and Kelly are both able to enjoy a myriad of activities with their two adorable children, Elijah Cadence and Mira Ahava.
TO CHANGE THE WORLD, ONE PATIENT AT A TIME. . . After receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Sherman College, Dr. Dick settled in Charlotte, North Carolina with his family. There, he experienced his scoliosis patients’ frustration and fear. That experience lead him to seek additional specialty education. In 2019, he completed his Standard Care Certification from CLEAR™ Institute, a leading scoliosis educational and certification center. It is there that he studied the science and clinical application of natural approaches to scoliosis care.
Most recently (2024), Dr. Dick was appointed to the CLEAR Institute Board of Directors. In 2023 he was named a Fellow of the Clear Institute. In 2021, he completed his Intensive Care Certification from CLEAR Institute in, a leading scoliosis educational and certification center. CLEAR Intensive certified doctors have undertaken extensive study in the science and clinical application of natural approaches to scoliosis care. The results are clear-hundreds of scoliosis sufferers have experienced improvement due to CLEAR treatment protocols delivered by CLEAR doctors.
In addition to Dr. Dick’s CLEAR certification, he received the World Masters Certification from ISICO, a certification that specializes in the conservative treatment and management of scoliosis.
In 2023, Dr. Dick became a Certified Medical Examiner for the Department of Transportation.
Dr. Dick has studied and received certifications in Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation. He is also a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT, RT (N)(CT), FAKTRA and has achieved Certification as a Computerized Technologist. His additional expertise in these area(s) support his diagnostic and treatment planning efforts with his patients.
John Whelan
John Whelan is a Doctor of Chiropractic Candidate at Palmer College of Chiropractic with a strong clinical focus on scoliosis and complex spinal conditions. He earned his undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America, where he studied Entrepreneurship with a minor in Biology, while playing collegiate football and gaining firsthand experience with performance care and injury prevention through chiropractic treatment.
John works closely alongside Dr. Justin Dick at Clear Life Scoliosis and Chiropractic Center, where he is involved in patient education, clinical research, and the application of evidence-informed scoliosis treatment protocols. Through this hands-on experience, he has developed a particular interest in conservative scoliosis management, neuromuscular re-education, and structural spinal correction.
In addition to his clinical training, John is actively engaged in academic research and professional scholarship, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through innovation, education, and data-driven care. He believes that empowering patients with knowledge and individualized treatment plans is essential to long-term success.
John is passionate about advancing the chiropractic profession through integrity, research, and service, and he is committed to helping patients restore function, confidence, and quality of life.

The CLEAR Scoliosis Institute is a clinical and educational organization focused on non surgical, structural rehabilitation approaches for scoliosis and spinal alignment disorders. It provides standardized assessment protocols and rehabilitative methodologies designed to address three dimensional spinal deformity through targeted exercises, traction based interventions, and alignment focused care.
ISICO (Istituto Scientifico Italiano Colonna Vertebrale), based in Italy, is a clinical and research institute dedicated to the conservative treatment of spinal deformities, particularly scoliosis. It is internationally recognized for developing and validating evidence based rehabilitation protocols, including the Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS), with a strong emphasis on clinical research and outcome measurement.
Scoliosis Braces Offered
ScoliBrace is an Australian developed, three dimensional scoliosis bracing system designed to provide customized corrective support based on detailed biomechanical and postural assessment. Using advanced CAD CAM technology and condition specific bracing strategies, ScoliBrace aims to address spinal curvature, rotational deformity, and sagittal alignment through individualized, evidence informed orthotic design.
SpineCor is a European developed dynamic scoliosis bracing system designed to provide flexible, movement based correction for idiopathic scoliosis. Unlike rigid braces, SpineCor utilizes elastic corrective bands to promote active postural re education while supporting three dimensional spinal alignment during daily activity.
Non Scoliosis Advanced Training
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) provides post primary certification pathways in Computed Tomography and Nuclear Medicine Technology for registered radiologic technologists seeking advanced imaging specialization. These credentials require structured education, documented clinical experience, and successful completion of a certification examination to demonstrate competency in advanced cross sectional or functional imaging procedures.

Remaining true to our mission as a healthcare provider, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. However, the current healthcare system has made it increasingly challenging to maintain this level of care while still keeping up with the demands of insurance providers. We believe that by not accepting insurance, we can better allocate our resources towards providing our patients with individualized care. You may expect an estimate for care.
