About Charlotte Rescue Mission and Community Matters Cafe

Charlotte Rescue Mission provides free, residential recovery services to men and women in Charlotte, NC who are working through substance abuse and homelessness. The Mission's 120-day recovery program addresses not just addiction but the behavioral and social infrastructure that makes sustained recovery possible.

The Community Matters Cafe serves as an extension of that program. Graduates of Charlotte Rescue Mission's residential track transition into the cafe's 6-month Life Skills Program, covering conflict resolution, workplace communication, and community reintegration — with housing and transportation provided throughout.

The cafe is not a charity restaurant. It operates as a working service business where program participants develop real employment skills in a supported, structured setting. When you attend the 5K or donate, you are funding that transition infrastructure directly.

Clear Life Scoliosis and Chiropractic Center also provides free chiropractic care to Charlotte Rescue Mission students on a regular basis as part of an ongoing community health initiative led by Dr. Justin Dick, DC.
